Through tracing the intracellular developmental cycle of the T7 bacteriophage, Sophia Roosth invites us into an MIT laboratory in disarray. In the inaugural April meeting, the reading group will explore the conceptual parameters of synthetic biology, where issues of a predictable nature, anxieties and hopes
about “intelligent design,” and Judeo-Christian accounts of creating life, entangle to produce a series of emergent encounters.
